KioWare Version History

KioWare for Windows has been updated to support Chromium 125.

New features provide options for: spell check, tab closing and improved communication with KioWare Server.

Added device support for Seiko SCD-2500 Card Dispenser.

A variety of other fixes and improvements, including fixing script errors that can cause web apps to malfunction, improved virtual keyboards, toolbar session timers, addin settings, Config Tool location, screenshots when DPI scaling is active, and browser language support.

Silent printing is a feature that hides the print preview dialog. This can now be disabled in the KioWare Config Tool, so that users will see the print preview dialog.

The Cleanliness Indicator tracks three different usage statistics: sessions, total run time, and active session time, since last cleaning.

Entries added through machine-specific basic authentication will not persist through settings export or import. New entries can also be passed in via command line during installation.

Added support for the Code CR110 Barcode Reader.

KioTouch is a touchless interface solution for self-service kiosks. This allows end-users to interact with the kiosk through their mobile device and does not require they touch the surface of the kiosk at all.

Expanded KioWare's toolbelt by adding support for another EMV processor.

Google has released information about a serious security vulnerability (CVE-2019-5786). This version of KioWare for Windows adds support for Chrome 72 (72.0.3626.121), resolving this vulnerability.

KioWare has added support for Chrome 70.

KioWare has added support for mobile devices in the drive browser system. This allows users to transfer files to the kiosk (drive browser) directly from their mobile device rather than a USB drive.

Easily use a website favicon in the custom toolbar.

Ability to lock the mouse cursor to a primary display when using multiple monitors. This allows deployers to limit mouse movements to only the allowed display.

Auto start applications can now be set to manipulate the application’s main window, hide KioWare, and hide the desktop cover.

KioWare has updated support for STAR printers using the new STAR Printer API. This provides additional STAR printer support as well as re-establishing support for STAR printers that were previously supported.

KioWare now allows for facial recognition integration via the Omron Facial Recognition Device. The device, the Omron B5T-007001(XB1), can be used to estimate a user’s age, facial expression (anger, happiness, neutral, sadness, and surprise), facial identity, gender, and more. When used with KioWare, the kiosk can serve different content based on the recognition of predefined characteristics.

The Innova device is a general input-output device that includes functions that can cycle LEDs, monitor environment sensors, and detect vibration. KioWare now offers support for this hardware integration.

KioWare now integrates with the Omron Multi-sensor 2JCIE-BU01 to store temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, light intensity, sound noise, acceleration, eTVOC, and other environmental information.

KioWare now supports the RFID tag reader/writer by FEIG Electronics.

KioWare can now monitor Practical Automation Wide form printers. Data includes low paper, out of paper, paper jam, and more.

KioWare has updated to Version 2.07 of ChipDNA. This allows for EMV compliant payment accepting and processor communication using ChipDNA’s latest release.

KioWare has added support for Chrome 67.

The mouse cursor can be set to auto-hide after timeout.

WiFi connectivity can now be managed using Javascript functions like GetInterfaces, Connect, Disconnect and more.

This page now appears when ACL blocked events take place.

A "length check" has been added which retries the downloading of remote settings to help prevent bad file downloads.

This allows for blocking the right click or allows for context menus to appear when right clicking is enabled.

Credit Call's EMV compliant credit card support updated to ChipDNA 2.03, adding support for the Ingenico RBA 17.3.10 among other improvements.

The OTI solution allows for accepting cashless payments on kiosks. KioWare has been updated to support the newest release, version 2.02.

An option is now available to open downloads in new tabs.

A new option has been added to keep the virtual keyboard on screen at all times. The virtual keyboard can now also be docked to the top of the screen.

KioWare for Windows now supports Chrome 63.

Support has been added for basic authentication and client certificates retrieving remote settings.

DPI Scaling in accordance with Windows settings is now supported.

KioWare kiosks running KioCall Video Conferencing now allow incoming calls while in attract mode.

KioWare is now able to communicate with a remote NetEPay server. This was previously only supported when running the NetEPay server on the same PC.

KioWare now supports the Identiv Multi-ISO High Frequency Reader AMID2US00 USB is an inexpensive RFID reader supporting ISO standards (ISO 14443 A/B, ISO 15693).

Support has been added for the Hengstler CP-56 receipt printer, allowing for printing on 56 mm rolls.

KioWare for Windows improves video performance and adds various bug fixes to improve usability & functionality.

Chrome 55, released in December 2016, addresses issues with Flash and enables HTML5 by default for a small number of users (ultimately adding a prompt to run Flash on new sites).

KioCall video conferencing allows deployers to add a video conferencing button to allow kiosk users to call out to a preset destination.

KioWare now supports the Citizen Printer (and similar models). This printer offers retract functionality.

The DLP-TH1b Temperature Humidity Sensor is now supported & allows notification of temperatures or humidity when preset points are exceeded.

ChipDNA offers EMV Compliant payments without going through the individual EMV certification process. Chip DNA version 1.15 supports the most recently added devices & integration options.

By default, KioWare automatically determines if a new URL should be opened via new tab or pop up (based on size). KioWare can be set to open new URLs all in new tabs or (new feature) all in new pop up windows.

Allows users to import both settings files and package files to KioWare for Windows (previously only package files were supported).

ChipDNA supports a variety of different PINpads and communication protocols for those PINpads.

The Code Reader™ 1000 (CR1000) is a compact, cabled barcode reader that takes up limited workspace.

The Sankyo SHT1610-0730 Dispenser allows for dispensing of various card types to end users.
